Most of South Sudan lacks commercial power services, so people rely on generators and solar energy for everything. ACROSS’ field locations are especially vulnerable. Without power, we struggle to communicate with those in the field. This can cause challenges in programme implementation and can even be dangerous given the dynamic security situation in South Sudan. We currently have two field locations with no power and two others with very limited power. Each location needs four solar panels.
